Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 May 2026. These terms govern your access to and use of Notary.

1. Service scope

Notary provides an online workflow to upload documents, complete payment, perform identity verification (KYC), and receive certified output files.

Notary is a document certification platform and does not provide legal advice. You are responsible for verifying whether a certified document meets your jurisdiction-specific legal requirements.

2. Eligibility and account access

You must provide accurate information at checkout and during account creation. You may place an order for another person, but KYC must be completed by the identity holder named in the order.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

3. KYC and identity verification

Certain services require successful identity verification through our KYC provider. If KYC is rejected, delayed, or incomplete, we may pause or refuse certification.

You authorize us to process and store verification status and associated metadata required to complete your order and maintain auditability.

4. Pricing, payment, and refunds

Fees are displayed before payment. By completing checkout, you authorize the corresponding charge. Optional qualified e-signature (QES) fees are charged only when selected.

Refund requests are evaluated case by case, especially where certification work has already started or KYC has been processed.

5. User obligations and prohibited use

You must only upload content you are authorized to process. You may not use Notary for unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, abusive, or deceptive purposes.

We may suspend or terminate access where misuse, security risk, or legal non-compliance is detected.

6. Liability and disclaimers

Notary is provided on a best-effort basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

7. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your country of residence.
